Meet Our Team
Demi McLaren, MSW, LICSW
Demi specializes in working with LGBTQIA+ and marginalized folks through a strength-based, trauma-informed lens. She also has experience working with clients coping with anxiety and depression along with other identity shifts that come with life transitions. As a white, openly queer woman, she is acutely aware of how her privileged identities impact her clients. She primarily uses cognitive-behavioral therapy and family systems therapy in her practice.
Demi received her master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Chicago. In Chicago and years later in D.C., Demi provided crisis intervention and restorative support to young people and adults facing both community violence and generational trauma. Demi, a Massachusetts native, is intentional in her return to the area - to offer a uniquely inclusive space for folks seeking better days ahead.
“Showing up is the first step & often the hardest to take. I will show up for you. We can take the next steps together.”
What we plant in the soil of contemplation, we shall reap in the harvest of action.
